Texas Rangers & Pittsburgh Pirates Complete Trade
The Texas Rangers have completed a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, acquiring right-handed pitcher Ricky DeVito in exchange for infielder Mark Mathias.
The Rangers sent Mathias to the Pirates last week in exchange for a player to be named later, which is now DeVito.

DeVito, a 24-year-old right-hander, made 35 appearances for High-A Greensboro in 2022, recording a 5.40 ERA, 90 strikeouts, and allowing 63 hits and 48 runs.
He's a former eighth-round pick by the Pirates in the 2019 MLB draft and had a 2.66 ERA in five appearances at the High-A level in 2021 before suffering an ulnar nerve issue. With a minor league option still remaining, DeVito will be assigned to the Rangers' minor league camp.
