San Francisco Giants Starter Suffers Knee Injury After Hard Comebacker
San Francisco Giants right-hander Alex Cobb suffered a left knee contusion after being hit by a line drive during his Cactus League start against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.
The 35-year-old was in significant pain initially, but he was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Fortunately, the test results came back negative, and Cobb is hopeful to make his next scheduled start.
It's a relief for the Giants who feared the worst, and there's a good chance that he won't miss any spring starts.
Cobb had a solid season in 2022, going 7-8 with a 3.73 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 149.2 innings in 28 starts last season. He finished above average in 9-of-14 statcast categories last year, a notable accomplishment.
As the Giants prepare for Opening Day, they will keep a close eye on Cobb's health to ensure he is ready to go when the season begins.
