Red Sox Justin Turner Forced Out Of Game After Pitch Directly To Face
Boston Red Sox third baseman Justin Turner was hit in the face by a pitch from Matt Manning during Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Detroit Tigers.
The incident occurred in the first inning when a fastball from Tigers' starter Manning got away and struck Turner.

He was seen bleeding profusely and was immediately attended to by a trainer before walking off the field.
Thankfully, Turner never lost consciousness, however, it is uncertain how much time he will miss due to the injury.
The Red Sox are expected to provide an official update on his condition soon.

The Red Sox signed Turner to a one-year, $8.3 million contract this offseason.
UPDATE: Turner was taken to the hospital in an ambulance following the incident. Still awaiting further updates.
