Red Sox Get Great News Back On Justin Turner's Scans; Took Direct Pitch To Face

Boston Red Sox third baseman, Justin Turner, suffered a scary injury during a Grapefruit League game against the Detroit Tigers on Monday.

Turner was hit in the face by a pitch thrown by Tigers' right-hander, Matt Manning, and had to be helped off the field by a trainer before being taken to the hospital.

However, the good news is that Turner has since been released from the hospital and is now resting at home. He underwent tests and scans, which all came back clean, indicating that he is not dealing with any fractures or concussion-related issues.

Though he did receive 16 stitches in his face, it seems that the injury is not as severe as initially feared.

The Red Sox have not given any updates on the timeline for Turner's return to action, but considering the circumstances, it is a positive outcome.
