Pittsburgh Pirates Pitcher Heading to Injured List

While speaking with reporters, Pittsburgh Pirates manager Derek Shelton said that JT Brubaker is dealing with right elbow discomfort. Due to this, he is expected to start the regular season on the injured list.

This is certainly not the best news for the Pirates, as Brubaker was looking to start the year on the right foot. Now, the Pirates will be without one of their starting pitchers for the beginning portion of the campaign.

Brubaker has the potential to become a solid MLB pitcher, but he has had some struggles over his first three seasons in the majors. In 63 appearances since his debut in 2020, he has put together a 9-28 record to go along with a 4.99 ERA. Thus, this season is a big one for him to show the Pirates that he can be an effective pitcher.

In 28 appearances last season with the Pirates, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound right-handed pitcher put together a 3-12 record and 4.69 ERA.
