Oakland A's Rumors: Slugger Linked to NY Yankees
The Oakland Athletics have been dismantling their roster since last offseason by trading away almost all of their top player. Now, after a strong 2022 season, a new trade candidate has emerged in Seth Brown. The power-hitting outfielder is garnering interest as well, as the New York Yankees are reportedly interested in acquiring him.
After losing Andrew Benintendi through free agency, the Yankees have not added another outfielder to their group. As a result of this, New York is considering a last-minute trade before the start of the regular season with Brown. Brown would give the Yankees an upgrade over Aaron Hicks at left field and provide them with much more power because of it.
The A's would be wise to take advantage of Brown's trade value being at its highest after his career season. In 150 games last season with Oakland, he set new career highs with 25 home runs to go along with 73 RBIs. Alas, we will need to wait and see if the Yankees' interest in Brown leads to them acquiring him before the start of the season.
