New York Mets Remove Key Reliever From WBC Due To Injury
The New York Mets will hold their breath.
Left-handed reliever Brooks Raley, who recently joined the Mets, has withdrawn from this year's World Baseball Classic for Team USA due to an undisclosed injury.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today initially reported the news and mentioned that Raley's replacement on the American team will be left-hander Aaron Loup.

Although there is no information about the exact nature of Raley's injury or the duration of his absence, the Mets are expected to provide updates soon.
Raley had a very nice season in 2022, posting a career-best 2.68 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, six saves, and 61 strikeouts in 53.2 innings for the Tampa Bay Rays, and was set to serve in a middle-relief role for the Mets.
Any absence would be a blow to the Mets' bullpen.
More information will be provided once available.
