MLB Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Andrelton Simmons
At the time of this writing, Andrelton Simmons is still looking for a new home. Yet, things could change on that front shortly, as the veteran shortstop is starting to generate some interest around the league. As a result, let's take a look at three potential landing spots for him.
Los Angeles Dodgers: With Gavin Lux out for the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a notable hole at the shortstop position. As a result, it could make sense for the Dodgers to bring in Simmons as another potential option for the role. Although his days as a starter may be over, he still could serve well as a solid backup option because of his excellent fielding ability.
Atlanta Braves: Simmons had most of his success in the majors as a member of the Atlanta Braves, so perhaps a reunion could make sense. After all, the Braves lost Dansby Swanson through free agency, so adding a veteran backup option in Simmons may be an avenue worth exploring.
Boston Red Sox: The Boston Red Sox would be wise to add one more middle infielder to their group before the start of the season. With the loss of Xander Bogaerts and Trevor Story out long term, it would make sense for them to add a player like Simmons to their depth.
