Perez, a versatile infielder/outfielder, is currently playing for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic and will report to the Twins' spring training once the tournament ends.

The 31-year-old veteran did not play in the majors in 2022 and had limited action in the previous two seasons.
In 2021, he appeared in only 10 games for the Washington Nationals, going 1-for-19 with two walks and 10 strikeouts.
Perez's last notable season was in 2019 with the Milwaukee Brewers. However, he brings a wealth of experience to the Twins, having played in 651 career games since 2010.
He will provide organizational depth at a range of different positions and could be a solid addition for Minnesota in the upcoming 2023 season.
