Los Angeles Dodgers Sign Speedy Outfielder
The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed outfielder Ben DeLuzio to a minor league contract following his release by the Chicago Cubs earlier on Thursday.
The 28-year-old offers good speed and defensive versatility, with the ability to play all three outfield positions.

DeLuzio spent all of spring training with the Cubs but failed to make their Opening Day roster, prompting his release.
In the minor leagues last season, DeLuzio hit a solid .277 batting average with a .353 on-base percentage, nine home runs, 49 RBIs, and 30 stolen bases in 363 at-bats.

While his offensive upside may be questioned, his defensive prowess and speed make him a useful depth option for the Dodgers organization.
DeLuzio is expected to report to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
