Los Angeles Dodgers Name Fifth Starter
The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced Ryan Pepiot as the fifth starter for the club at the beginning of the 2023 regular season.
With Tony Gonsolin sidelined due to an ankle injury, the decision was between Pepiot and Michael Grove for the final spot in the rotation.

Pepiot outperformed Grove during the Cactus League, recording a 3.29 ERA and striking out 19 batters over 13.2 innings in five spring games.
Pepiot's impressive showing in the Cactus League and his potential as a strong strikeout pitcher make him a solid addition to the Dodgers' rotation.

He had a successful 2022 rookie season, recording a 3.47 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 36.1 major-league innings.
While he may only hold the position until Gonsolin returns, his talent and potential suggest that he will likely continue to play a significant role for the Dodgers throughout the season. Photo Credit: Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports
