In his first appearance of the spring on Tuesday, he hit 99 MPH in discarding three straight Detroit Tigers batters (two Ks) in his one inning of work. Tiedemann displayed all of his electric stuff, and is already showing a commanding mound presence and demeanor.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider was "very encouraged" by the youngster's outing. Per Ben Nicholson-Smith, Tiedemann, however, has to get stretched out to build up a starter's workload. He only pitched 78 innings total last year across three minor league levels, in 18 starts. But they were a sensational 78 innings, as he posted a 2.17 ERA, a 0.86 WHIP, and a whopping 13.4 K/9.
Jays fans should expect to see this flame-thrower in Toronto at some point in 2023.
