Cleveland Guardians Sign Pitcher
The Cleveland Guardians have added to their pitching depth by signing Jhon Romero to a minor league contract.
Romero spent last season with the Minnesota Twins organization. In four appearances with the big league club, the 5-foot-10 righty sported a 0-0 record to go along with a 3.60 ERA. Unfortunately, a biceps injury took away the majority of his 2022 season, but now he is fully healthy and ready to get things going with the Guardians.
Romero will need to impress during these final few days of Spring Training if he hopes to have his contract selected onto the team's Opening Day roster. However, if that does not occur, do not rule out the possibility of him receiving a call-up at some point during the campaign.
In nine career MLB games split between the Washington Nationals and Twins, Romero has a 0-0 record to go along with a 4.00 ERA. Let's see if he gets the chance to improve upon these career stats with Cleveland this season.
