Chicago Cubs: Top Prospect To Watch In 2023
Pete Crow-Armstrong, the top prospect for the Chicago Cubs, is one of the most exciting young players to watch this season.
Despite being just 20 years old and having only played above High-A, his potential is undeniable.
Pete Crow-Armstrong is one of the rarest finds in today’s game, a two-way center fielder with the potential to win a Gold Glove and hit leadoff at Wrigley Field. In other words, a possible star. Story with @sahadevsharma on a Cubs prospect worth the hype: https://t.co/xwkb2XanUq

Crow-Armstrong is known for his exceptional defensive skills, which have earned him the highest possible grade of "80" for his outfield defense by MLB Pipeline. He is considered to be the game's best defensive prospect and is likely to win Gold Gloves at the major league level.
But that's not all. Crow-Armstrong has also shown impressive offensive potential, with a quick left-handed stroke, disciplined approach, newfound power, and impressive speed on the bases.
Last season, in the minors, the 21-year-old slashed a fantastic .312/.376/.520, with 16 home runs, 61 RBIs, 32 stolen bases and 89 runs scored across 101 games played.

The speedy Pete C-A hit for high average in A ball (.354) w/ 7 HRs & 13 SBs good for a wRC+ of 168, to find himself promoted to A+ where he continued to hit (.287 w/ 9HRs, 19 SBs across 265 ABs). But the A+ wRC+ fell outside the top 100 pic.twitter.com/PFv0NnrBGu
He was acquired by the Cubs in the deal that saw Chicago send Javier Baez and Trevor Williams to the New York Mets in July 2021.
Overall, Crow-Armstrong is a player to keep an eye on this season as he continues to develop his skills and move closer to making his major league debut.
With his unique combination of defensive prowess and offensive potential, he has the potential to become a star player for the Cubs in the future.
