BREAKING: Atlanta Braves Starter Headed To IL After First Start
Atlanta Braves left-handed pitcher Max Fried will miss his next start due to a hamstring injury.
According to Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Braves manager Brian Snitker confirmed that Fried sustained a hamstring strain during their season-opening game against the Washington Nationals on Thursday.
Brian Snitker said Max Fried has a hamstring strain. Snit said it would likely be an IL situation, though the Braves don’t have to decide that this moment.

The left-hander had to exit his Opening Day start due to discomfort in his left hamstring. The severity of the injury is not yet clear, but additional testing is expected.
Fried is likely to be placed on the injured list, Snitker said, although no official decision has been made yet.

This news comes as a significant blow to the Braves' rotation early in the season, especially since Fried had a stellar 2022 season with a 2.48 ERA and 1.01 WHIP.
The Braves are also dealing with injuries to starters Kyle Wright (15-day IL) and Michael Soroka.
More information regarding Fried's condition is expected in the coming days and, hopefully, it's not too lengthy of an absence.
