Baltimore Orioles Return Pitcher To Boston Red Sox
Right-handed pitcher Andrew Politi, who was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in last December's Rule 5 Draft, has been returned to the Boston Red Sox after clearing waivers.
The 26-year-old struggled during his time in Orioles camp this spring, posting a 6.23 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 8.2 innings of Grapefruit League play, and was subsequently designated for assignment.

Politi had an impressive minor league season last year, recording a 2.34 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 69.1 innings pitched between Boston's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates.
However, he did not make the Orioles' season-opening roster, and as he cleared waivers, he will be sent to Triple-A Worcester to continue his development.
