The Arizona Diamondbacks do not have high expectations heading into this season. Although it is expected to be another long year for them, they do have two breakout candidates who could make this season far more enjoyable for their fans. Let's discuss them now.

Drey Jameson: Drey Jameson made his first four MLB appearances last season with the Diamondbacks, and he impressed immensely during them. This is made apparent by his 3-0 record to go along with his 1.48 ERA and 24 strikeouts. The Diamondbacks may have a gem here, and he will now be aiming to build off of this success for them in 2023.

Kyle Nelson: Kyle Nelson took a big step forward last season with the Diamondbacks, as he had a 2-1 record to go along with a 2.19 ERA in 43 games. Now, he has big expectations heading into the 2023 season, and it will be intriguing to see if he can emerge as a legitimate All-Star reliever for them from here.
