Toronto Blue Jays Sign Catcher

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed catcher Jamie Ritchie to a minor-league contract.

Ritchie picked one of the worst teams to sign with, as the Blue Jays are already loaded with catching depth. As a result, it's very unlikely that he sees playing time at the major-league level this season.

Last season, with Triple-A Indianapolis, the twenty-nine-year-old slashed .242/.375/.658, with 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored over 99 at-bats.

Ritchie is a former 13th-round selection by the Houston Astros in the 2014 MLB Draft.

Ritchie has yet to make his major-league debut, but holds a .284/.402/.797 triple-slash line, with 28 home runs, 254 RBIs, 26 stolen bases and 339 runs scored over 1,997 at-bats in the minors.
