Top Five MLB Team Win Total Predictions For 2023 Per BetOnline

Now that teams have their rosters pretty much in order heading into spring training, it's time for the bookies to lay down some odds. BetOnline has released its betting line for MLB team win totals for this season, and the World Series champs are not at the top of the list.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, despite an offseason which saw them lose superstar shortstop Trea Turner, and shy away from any big additions, take top spot, with a line of 96 wins.

The defending champion Houston Astros are a tick behind at 95 ½ wins. This is quite possibly due to the larger reach of Dodger Nation. 

The 2021 champs, the Atlanta Braves, are close behind with a 95-win over/under, while the New York Yankees and New York Mets sit at 94 ½, completing the top five. Both NY teams made big pitching additions in the offseason, the Yankees with Carlos Rodon and the Mets with Justin Verlander and Kodai Senga. 

The San Diego Padres (93½) and the Toronto Blue Jays (91½) are the only other teams to top the 90-win plateau in over/under win totals. 

And at the very bottom of the list, the oddsmakers are figuring another 100-loss season is in the cards for the Oakland A's... Their win total is set at 60.
