Texas Rangers Sign Veteran Right-Hander To Bullpen Mix

The Texas Rangers are adding some veteran pitching depth.

The Rangers have signed right-hander Dominic Leone to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.
Leone was released by the San Francisco Giants last September shortly after suffering an elbow impingement that landed him on the injured list.

He finished the 2022 season with a 4.01 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 52 strikeouts across 49.1 innings and 55 relief appearances. Assuming he is fully healthy, Leone will likely compete for a lower-leverage relief role in camp with the Rangers.

The thirty-one-year-old is entering his 10th major league season.

Over his career, Leone holds a decent 3.69 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, with 373 strikeouts over 356 innings.
