St. Louis Cardinals Acquire Left-Handed Reliever From Royals

Headed to St. Louis.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired pitcher Anthony Misiewicz from the Kansas City Royals for cash considerations.

Misiewicz was designated for assignment last week and the Cardinals took advantage of the opportunity.

Last season, split between the Seattle Mariners and the Royals, Misiewicz posted a 4.34 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts over 29 innings of work.

For his career, spanning three seasons, the twenty-eight-year-old holds a 4.43 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 105 strikeouts across 103.2 innings.

He's found most of his success against left-handed batters so the Cardinals will likely utilize him in that fashion.
