Seattle Mariners Bring Back Catcher

The Seattle Mariners have signed catcher Josh Morgan to a minor league contract.

Morgan spent this past season with the Mariners organization, so perhaps it is not too surprising to see that they have decided to bring him back as a depth piece. In 26 games split between Triple-A, Single-A+, and Rk, he had four home runs, nine RBIs, and a .215 batting average. Overall, it was not a particularly strong season for him, but now he will be aiming to bounce back in 2023.

Although Morgan is unlikely to compete for a spot on the Mariners' major league roster for the start of the season, perhaps he could earn himself a call-up as the year rolls on if he has a strong start to the campaign.
