Pirates Young Star Shortstop Says He Will Go "30/30 or 40/40 This Year"
He's aiming for a massive year.
Pittsburgh Pirates Oneil Cruz told reporters on Thursday that he aims to go "30/30 or 40/40 this year."
"The one that is going to be under my control is to play hard and put on a good show for the people in Pittsburgh who go to see me play," Cruz said.
The goals Cruz has set for himself seem pretty insane for a player entering his second major league season, however, he did hit 17 home runs, 54 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and 45 runs scored over the first 87 games of his major league career last season.

The twenty-four-year-old did have some contact issues, however, posting a .233/.294/.450 triple-slash line last season. He struggled especially against left-handed pitching.
Still, Cruz has astronomical power and some of the highest speed in the game, so it not this year, the goal is definitely attainable for him in the future.
