Painter is competing this spring with Bailey Falter for the final spot in the Phillies' Opening Day rotation, which is pretty insane, considering he's just 19 years old.
The 6-foot-7, 215 pounds teenager is one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball and could force himself onto the Phillies' Opening Day roster with a strong showing this spring.
He posted a stellar 1.56 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 155 strikeouts over 103.2 innings of work this past season, split between three minor-league levels.
