New York Yankees Sign Pitcher
The New York Yankees have signed Ian Hamilton to a minor league contract.
At this point of the offseason, we see teams around the league beef up their pitching depth in anticipation for spring training. This is understandable, as they want to take a look at as many of their options as they can before the start of the season. With the Yankees signing Hamilton, this is exactly what they are doing.
Hamilton appeared in one game this season with the Minnesota Twins, where he allowed two earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched. Down in Triple-A, he had a 2-7 record and 3.61 ERA split between the St. Paul Saints and Columbus Clippers. Overall, it was a decent year for him, but now he will be hoping for the chance to see more major league time as a Yankee in 2023.
