New York Mets Sign Pitcher
The New York Mets have added to their pitching depth, as they have signed Manuel Alvarez to a minor league contract.
It is always a good thing for teams to add to their pitching depth before spring training is here. This allows them to take a look at more minor league pitchers around the league, and now Alvarez is just the latest for them to pay attention. He did struggle this past season, however, as he had a 3-3 record and a 7.75 ERA in 35 games split between Double-A and Triple-A. Needless to say, he will now be aiming to have a real bounce-back season in 2023.
Nevertheless, there is no harm in the Mets taking a chance on Alvarez. We will need to wait and see how he performs in their system from here.
