Los Angeles Dodgers Sign Outfielder
Yusniel Diaz has a new home, as the Los Angeles Dodgers have signed the outfielder to a minor league contract.
Diaz appeared in his first career major league game this season as a member of the Baltimore Orioles. In it, he struck out in his lone at-bat. Now, the 26-year-old will be hoping for the chance to receive more chances in the majors this season but as a Dodger.
With this move, the Dodgers have simply added an outfielder to their depth. However, if Diaz impresses during spring training, it could certainly open the door to him making their major league roster as a backup option on Opening Day. Alas, we will need to wait and see what happens on that front from here.
