Injury Update On Twins Starter; Missed All Of 2022 After Surgery

He missed the entire 2022 season.

Minnesota Twins starter Kenta Maeda threw 40 pitches in a bullpen session on Thursday.

Maeda topped out at around 89 MPH, which doesn't sound like too much, but he reportedly walked away satisfied with how things went.

"In comparison to what I was throwing in September last year, it feels much better right now," Maeda told reporters. "I can tell you that much."

Maeda underwent Tommy John surgery in September 2021 and enters spring training with no restrictions.

In 2021, the now thirty-four-year-old posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, with 113 strikeouts across 106.1 innings and 21 starts.

He has been a very capable starter in the past so it'd be nice to see him find success again this year.
