Chicago White Sox Sign Former First-Round Pick Outfielder
Headed to Chicago.
The Chicago White Sox have signed outfielder Chris Shaw to a minor-league contract.
Shaw spent a short amount of time with the San Francisco Giants in 2018 and 2019, but he's labored in the minors and independent leagues over the past three seasons and will face a tough test in order to make it back to the majors.
The twenty-eight-year-old spent last season with the Kentucky Wild Health Genomes of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, slashing .264/.401/.459, with 17 home runs over 117 games.
He'll likely begin the season at Triple-A Charlotte.
For his major-league career, spanning just 38 games, Shaw holds a .466 OPS, with one home run, seven RBIs, one stolen base and two runs scored.
He is a former first-round pick by the Giants in the 2015 MLB Draft.
