Cardinals Pitcher Goes Unclaimed On Waivers; Sent Outright
No one was willing to use a 40-man spot on him.
As a result, the St. Louis Cardinals have sent pitcher James Naile outright to Triple-A Memphis.
He'll also get an invite to spring training.
RHP James Naile has been outrighted to the Memphis (AAA) roster and will remain at Major League camp as a non-roster invitee.

The Cardinals designated Naile for assignment last week with the acquisition of Anthony Misiewicz.
Naile made his brief major-league debut last season, recording a poor 5.00 ERA over nine innings and seven appearances.
However, with Triple-A Memphis last year, the thirty-year-old compiled a solid 3.31 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, with 64 strikeouts over 73.1 innings of work. He made three starts, 41 relief appearances and held a 4-3 record.
Naile is a former 20th-round pick by the Oakland Athletics in the 2015 MLB Draft.
