Aroldis Chapman Suffers Another Bizarre Injury
Aroldis Chapman hasn't had a good run of it of late. An unusual injury could possibly cost him a bit of time at Kansas City Royals spring training.

According to Royals' beat writer Anne Rogerrs, Chapman slipped and fell at his house on Saturday night, cracked a tooth and split his lip open, requiring stitches.
And that's not even the most bizarre injury he's suffered in the last year. In 2022, the New York Yankees had to place him on the injured list due an infection from a tattoo that he got on his leg.
As for the broken tooth and split lip, he says it’s still pretty swollen but does hope to try to play catch later today, and maybe even throw a bullpen tomorrow. He still hopes to get into a game soon.
The Royals took a chance signing Chapman this offseason, after a rough season last year in the Bronx. He had a 4.46 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP, while walking a dreadfully high 7 batters per nine innings. In 2021, he gave free passes to six batters per nine.
After his lip heals, he'll obviously need to get the walks under control... Or it'll be the Royals who'll be biting their lip over that $3.75M they gave him.
