Mujica made a pair of relief appearances with the Colorado Rockies during the 2020 season, but has not pitched in the majors since.
The twenty-six-year-old posted a 4.11 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 58 strikeouts over 61.1 innings of work between the Double-A and Triple-A levels in the New York Yankees' system last season.
For his minor-league career, Mujica holds a 4.17 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP over 606 innings.
The right-handed reliever will give the Nationals some extra relief depth in the high minor levels.
