Washington Nationals Sign Pitcher

The journeyman is joining yet another team.

The Washington Nationals have signed pitcher Anthony Banda to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.

Last season, split between the Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees, Banda posted an ugly 6.75 ERA over 26.2 innings.

For his major league career, the twenty-nine-year-old holds a 5.64 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, and 103 strikeouts across 111.2 innings of work. Despite the poor stats, Banda has a very real chance of making the Nationals Opening Day roster.

Banda is a former 10th-round pick by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2012 MLB Draft.
