Washington Nationals Sign Infielder
The Washington Nationals have signed Michael Chavis to a one-year, minor-league contract. If he makes the majors, he will earn $1 million and an additional $500,000 of potential incentives.
Chavis spent last season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he had 14 home runs, 49 RBIs, and a .229 batting average in 129 games. Although Chavis provided some power, it is apparent that he struggled to hit for contact. Now, he will be looking to find more consistency as a National in 2023.
Alas, let's see if Chavis can make the major league roster out of Spring Training.
