Tigers Designate Pitcher For Assignment

They claimed him off waivers on Sunday.

The Detroit Tigers have designated pitcher Zach Logue for assignment.

The Tigers claimed Logue off waivers from the Oakland Athletics on Sunday, but he'll be removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Tyler Levin, who was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday.

Logue pitched 57 innings in the majors last season, posting a 6.79 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 42 strikeouts over 10 starts and four relief appearances. He held a 3-8 record.

The twenty-six-year-old is a former ninth-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2017 MLB Draft. There's a chance he clears waivers and remains with the Tigers as organizational depth.
