Tampa Bay Rays Sign Pitcher to Extension
The Tampa Bay Rays have made another move, as they have signed Pete Fairbanks to a three-year, $12 million contract extension. It also comes with a 2026 club option.
Fairbanks emerged as one of the Rays' most important relievers this past season, so it makes sense that they are keeping him around for multiple years. In 24 appearances on the year with Tampa Bay, he sported a fantastic 1.13 ERA and eight saves. Needless to say, he showed that he can be a dominant reliever in the majors, and now he will be aiming to keep that going from here.
Overall, this is a good contract for both parties. Let's see how Fairbanks responds to it on the mound from here.
