Tampa Bay Rays Sign Infielder
The Tampa Bay Rays have made a minor move, as they have signed Gavin Collins to a minor league contract.
Collins spent this past season with Triple-A Columbus, where he had four home runs, 16 RBIs, and a .235 batting average. Overall, it was a year of mixed results for him at the plate, but now he will be hoping for more consistency with the Rays organization from here.
If Collins can impress at spring training, it could open the door for him to receive a call-up to the Rays at some point during the year. Yet, at a minimum, Tampa Bay has simply added to their depth with this move.
