Tampa Bay Rays Sign Infielder to Extension

The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Yandy Diaz to a three-year, $24 million contract extension. 

This is the latest move that the busy Rays have made this week, and it has the potential to be another good one. Diaz is coming off of a very strong season with Tampa Bay, so it makes sense that they have decided to bring them back for multiple more years. Now, he will be aiming to build off of his solid 2022 season by having an even better one in 2023.

It is good to see a low-market team like the raise sign multiple players to multi year deals, and now we will have to wait and see if this trend continues as we gear up to the regular season. Alas, time will tell what happens on that front.
