Six-Year Veteran Hurler Heads To Japan
He began his major league career as mainly a starter for the San Diego Padres, but after three seasons of an ERA way up in the 5's, he was moved full-time to the bullpen. Luis Perdomo has had more success as a reliever, but will now be continuing his baseball career in Japan.
Righty Luis Perdomo is headed to Japan to play for the Chiba Lotte Marines, per source. Contract is a one-year deal and includes $1.3 million guaranteed with a chance to make as much as $1.8 million. Repped by CAA Sports.

Perdomo will join the Chiba Lotte Marines on a one-year deal worth $1.3M with incentives that could see the contract reach $1.8M.
The 29-year-old spent 2022 with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he posted a 3.80 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP, with a 12:3 K/BB ratio in 23.2 innings. His strikeout rate plummeted, however, down to 4.6K/9. The Brewers non-tendered him after the season.
He'll join a staff on Chiba Lotte that features noted young Japanese pitching star Roki Sasaki, who threw the first perfect game in 28 years in the NPB this past season, in addition to setting a new league record by striking out 13 consecutive batters and a record-tying 19-strikeouts.
