Seattle Mariners Sign Catcher

The Seattle Mariners have signed catcher Jacob Nottingham to a minor league contract.

Nottingham appeared in 10 games for the Mariners during the 2021 season and did not make an appearance in the majors last season, slashing .229/.333/.425, with 15 home runs, 51 RBIs, 12 stolen bases and 41 runs scored across 301 at-bats for Triple-A Norfolk, the Baltimore Orioles' Triple-A affiliate.

For his major-league career, the twenty-seven-year-old holds a .250/.330/.742 triple slash line, with 73 home runs, 342 RBIs, 45 stolen bases and 318 runs scored across 2,294 at-bats.

Nottingham will function as emergency catching depth for the Mariners this season.
