Seattle Mariners Designate Outfielder for Assignment
The Seattle Mariners recently claimed former first-round pick J.B. Bukauskas off of waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Due to this, they needed to clear up a spot on their 40-man roster for their new pitcher, so outfielder Alberto Rodriguez has been designated for assignment.
With this move, Rodriguez will now either be traded or placed on waivers before the end of the week. There could be some interest in the outfielder, as he is just 22 years old and may have the potential to one day blossom into a full-time MLB player. In 119 games with Single-A Everett, he had 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, and a .261 batting average.
We will have to wait and see what happens with Rodriguez from here.
