Seattle Mariners Claim Pitcher Off Waivers
The Seattle Mariners have added to their pitching depth, as they have claimed J.B. Bukauskas off of waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Bukauskas is an interesting player, as he was a first-round pick back in 2017. However, he has not been able to live up to his once-top prospect status and has had trouble cementing himself as a full-time MLB pitcher at this point of his career. He did not make an appearance in the majors in 2022 and struggled in his lone MLB season in 2021. In 21 games with Arizona that campaign, he had a 2-2 record to go along with a very high 7.71 ERA.
Bukauskas will be aiming to take that next step in his development as a Mariner from here. Overall, this is a low-risk move by Seattle, so let's see if it pays off for them.
