San Diego Padres Sign Pitcher

The San Diego Padres have made a minor move, as they have signed Wilmer Font to a minor-league deal.

Font last appeared in the majors during the 2020 season, when he was a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. It was truly a year to forget, as he had a 1-3 record to go along with a 9.92 ERA in 21 appearances. Yet, if he has it his way, he will be able to redeem himself as a member of the Padres from here.

Font will first have to impress the Padres at spring training to have any chance of making their major league roster for the start of the season. In 96 career MLB games, Font has a 7-11 record to go along with a 5.82 ERA.
