San Diego Padres Sign Catcher

The San Diego Padres have signed Pedro Severino.

Severino will give the Padres another veteran catcher to work with in their depth. However, if Severino has it his way, he will sneak his way onto their major league roster once Opening Day is here.

Overall, there’s no real harm in this move. At a minimum, the Padres have a decent call-up option for when injuries occur during the season. However, we will need to wait and see if he can be more than just that from here.
