Pittsburgh Pirates Sign Shortstop

The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired him after the trade deadline from the Philadelphia Phillies for cash considerations.

Now, the Pirates have re-signed infielder Drew Maggi to a minor-league contract.

The thirty-three-year-old has yet to appear in the majors and also signed a minor league contract with the Phillies back in March.

For his minor-league career, Maggi holds a decent .255/.350/.699 triple slash line, with 46 home runs, 352 RBIs, 221 stolen bases and 587 runs scored.

He is a former 15th-round pick by the Pirates in the 2010 MLB Draft. Maggi will give the rebuilding Pirates some added position player depth moving forward.
