Philadelphia Phillies Pitcher Designated for Assignment

The Philadelphia Phillies have made a roster move, as they have designated Sam Coonrod for assignment.

Coonrod was designated for assignment to create a roster spot for recently signed Josh Harrison. As a result, Coonrod will now either be traded or placed on waivers by the end of the week.

Teams looking to add a bit more pitching depth could consider the prospect of making a push for Coonrod from here. Although he is not a star, he has a decent amount of MLB experience and could serve as a decent reliever if he can find his old form. Alas, time will tell if another team elects to bring him in from here.
