NL East Team Linked To Mets Eduardo Escobar

According to Craig Mish of the Miami Herald, the Miami Marlins have reached out to the New York Mets about the availability of third baseman Eduardo Escobar.

If the Mets eventually work everything out to get Carlos Correa signed, Eduardo Escobar's role would shift from the starting third baseman to a reserve role.

The Marlins did recently sign Jean Segura, however, with the intention of playing him as their everyday third baseman, so it's not yet clear whether they are still interested.

In 136 games last season, the thirty-three-year-old slashed .240/.295/.725, with 20 home runs, 69 RBIs and 58 runs scored.

Regardless, it looks to be a matter of when, not if, the Mets move Escobar.
