New York Yankees Sign Former First-Round Pick

The New York Yankees are signing the former top prospect.

Perez was the St. Louis Cardinals' first-round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft. Unfortunately, he was never able to put it together offensively as he worked his way up the ranks of their minor league system.

Last season, between Double-A and Triple-A, Perez slashed .223/.315/.629, with five home runs, 33 RBIs, 21 stolen bases and 45 runs scored across 296 at-bats.

It should be interesting to see how the former top prospect develops in the Yankees' system.
