MLB Rumors: San Diego Padres Pitcher Linked to Rays

The San Diego Padres have a surplus of pitchers, and Ryan Weathers has been reportedly being shopped because of it. Interest in his services is starting to increase because of this, and the Tampa Bay Rays are one of the clubs making a push to acquire the young pitcher.

With the Rays being a low-market team, it makes sense that they are looking to bring in a young player like Weathers. After all, he has the potential to emerge as a very good starter in this league and is under team control for multiple years. As a result, Tampa Bay could very well come up with a strong enough offer to bring him in.

We will need to wait and see if Weathers gets a change of scenery and heads to the Rays from here. Alas, time will tell what occurs on that front.
