MLB Rumors: Insider Names Frontrunner for Gary Sanchez

According to MLB insider Hector Gomez, the Los Angeles Angels are the frontrunner to sign free-agent catcher Gary Sanchez.

Sanchez is the top catcher free agent still available, and he is getting interest around the league because of it. Yet, this report from Gomez shows that the Angels have the best shot to land him, so we will need to wait and see if that does in fact come to fruition from here.

Los Angeles needs help at the catcher position, and bringing in a power hitter like Sanchez does seem like a good idea because of it. In 128 games last season with the Minnesota Twins, he had 16 home runs, 61 RBIs, and a .205 batting average.
